Pets cannot talk, they mask their illness, and they have a shorter lifespan; therefore, they need more frequent care than humans.
Here at All Creatures Veterinary Hospital in Seneca Falls, we believe in taking a preventive appproach to your pet’s health and well being. It is much easier to prevent disease than to treat your pet after it becomes ill. We believe it is our responsibility as pet healthcare professionals to educate you about and to provide the most up-to-date options for your pet. You will have choices as to the level of care you would like for your companion.
The physical examination is the most valuable part of any pet visit to our hospital. Exams allow the veterinarian to detect changes before they elevate to severe health problems. A complete medical assessment begins with a thorough physical examination of all the body systems and assessment of your pet’s weight and body condition. Your pet’s eyes, ears, skin, cardiovascular (heart and blood vessels), respiratory (lungs and airways), neurological (brain and nerves), gastrointestinal (throat, stomach, liver, pancreas, intestines and colon), and skeletal system (bones) are examined for any abnormalities.
Keep in mind that a pet examination every 6 months is similar to a person visiting their family doctor every 3-4 years.
