Dr. Doreen John grew up in Wayland, NY on a purebred sheep farm. As a youth, she was very active in the 4-H Livestock Program showing sheep, chickens, dogs, rabbits, pigs, and more! Doreen first became interested in Veterinary Medicine as a career after attending the Veterinary Open House at Cornell at the age of 11. She attended the University of Rochester for her undergraduate studies, majoring in Molecular Genetics. Doreen graduated in 1986 and proceeded to the NY College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell where she graduated in 1990 with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation she worked as an associate veterinarian at Stack Animal Hospital in Syracuse, NY prior to opening All Creatures Veterinary Hospital in Seneca Falls with her husband Greg in 1992. As a veterinarian, Dr. Doreen enjoys caring for companion animals primarily. Dr. Doreen’s hobbies include outdoor activities, camping, reading, crafts, and family fun.
Drs. Greg and Doreen have 3 children, Henry, Spencer, and Murphy. Henry graduated from the University of Buffalo with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Minor in Psychology. Currently, he does Sports Analytical writing and long distance flatbed trucking. He and his dog Harold travel all over the United States. Spencer earned a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Embry Riddle Aerospace University in Florida and is currently employed with Belcan Industries (Pratt and Whitney) doing commercial and military plane engine design work. The Doctors’ daughter Murphy earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from the University of New Mexico. She is currently a doctoral student in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of Georgia.
